Matthias Hager is down to earth in more ways than one - at least that’s how we imagine him, squatting down all around his 13 hectares of vineyards to listen to what the vines and soil have to say. When you go biodynamic, you can’t go back: nature just won’t have it. His holistic approach to winemaking demands both perseverance and a sensitive nature. Lunar rhythms, medicinal herbs, planetary constellations - they’re all just the tip of the iceberg. When you give nature a listening ear the result is wine whose terroir feels free to express itself. For the village of Mollands the result is the fruity, mineral taste of Kamptal.
