Etienne Calsac is regarded as the top grower currently, if you ask his colleagues. Humble, precise, and brave in his decisions, he started from scratch and reached world-class status in a short period of time.
His LES ROCHEFORTS is one of his signature champagnes—rich, bold, and typical of its terroir. Base 2021.
Domaine Vincey. A domaine that came out of nowhere and is here to stay. In a short period of time, they have created their own Vincey style and mastered Chardonnay at a superb level. Each wine in their portfolio vividly expresses the terroir. INTERLUDE NO3, Réserve Perpétuelle from 2018 - 2021.
La Rogerie. A very hard-to-get and highly sought-after domaine. Their 3rd release replaces their iconic Lieux de Vin with BOURG / SUD, and like the one from Vincey also is a Réserve Perpétuelle from 2018 - 2021.
All three are at the top and come from the Côte des Blancs, representing the villages of Avize, Oger, and Flavigny. What an array of Chardonnay! I strongly recommend opening them all at once. Ask your friends to join, and mention La Rogerie—they will come.
