Many people ask why Charles has stopped his single vineyard champagne range and does Bulles de Comptoir. First of all, he has so many projects running at the same time—like the Bistrøtage range; we tend to forget it, but the single vineyards allowed him quantities of 400 to 900 bottles per cuvée, and paired now with his sold-out status everywhere, it was too little to supply the high demand. And he has always loved to blend, in the old style. And Bulles de Comptoir is named that simply for a reason.
